With only two days left before my trip to Florida, I reallllly need to rev up the completion of my prim patriotic tucks! Since moving to the Galveston area last July, I have longed for the company of my gaggling sisters-in-law who greet my every creation with a bevy of ooooohs and ahhhs that truly make me feel like a rock star! Our niece's (the beautiful red head in this photo) wedding is the perfect excuse for us all to get together and I can't wait to bring them some prim love :)
This past week has been full of appointments, school ending and traffic. I used every opportunity to get these Sams stuffed and stitched. (Why yes, I do bring a bag of stuffing everywhere I go and I'm not ashamed to use it in public!) Here the Sams have just enjoyed a heavy brushing of gesso.
Next the Sams got a brisk sanding, a pencil line for their hat, and an acrylic paint mixed specially for their faces. (If you're near a Hobby Lobby- they're having an awesome clearance on acrylics!)
While the Sams dry, I prepare the grunging blend and start with the wool hair.
I am going extra grungy with these Sams so I enjoy the bright blue for the day.
The bowl buddies are also coming along. The flags have had their inital grunging and stuffing.
And the Liberty tucks are conversing with the cutter quilt for best possible backings.
There is much more painting, stitching and grunging to do so I best get back to work!
LOVE & FAMILY TRIPS!
Everything looks wonderful!!! Can't wait to see them in person!! Love you!! xoxo
