No matter what occupation one has, every one needs an inspiration piece in the work space. A little pretty something or other that keeps us from launching the computer through the window or to calm our nerves on hectic days. On my desk I have a vintage metal typewriter that long ago lost its functionality. The keys don't strike and the ribbon is so dry it crackles. Re-purposed as my inspiration board, its flaws are display perfection. It is here I keep my mantras at eye level.
The paper feed is jammed with Papaya Art cards, vintage photos, and wordy snippets that fuel my imagination. The metal is perfect for paper flower magnets made by my daughter. Upcoming art challenge deadlines stand at attention between rows of defunct symbols and numbers.
Though the center theme rotates, usually as Papaya's new line emerges, the whale card is my constant. It is the simplest phrase with a ton of meaning for me. My ultimate goal in my art and my life is to stir a smile and chuckle in the lives of others.
LOVE & OLD TYPE WRITERS!
How beautiful and inspiring your piece is!!
